Why do people like the Tassimos so much? It blows my mind. One coffee T-Disc makes half a cup of slightly warm, bitter tasting coffee. And one hot chocolate T-disc makes a half a cup of warm, watery, flavourless hot chocolate. The first one that I bought, I brought back thinking there was something wrong with it after making a hot chocolate that tasted like slightly flavoured chocolate water. But it wasn't broken. That's just the way they are. When I contacted Tassimo about it, they acknowledged that the hot chocolate T-discs are watery and told me to use two T-discs. Or to make a full cup of coffee, use two discs. Really? I'd rather pay the same price for a large hot chocolate/ coffee at Tim Hortons.

Rated 1 out of 5 by RStrzal Poor replacement for t65
I just received this as a replacement for the faulty t65. I'm considering keeping the broken one. The t55 doesn't have a water tank with a handle/cover which is very convenient if you have to reach over to the back of the brewer, no lcd with clear info, no lighstand, no descaling. I'd recommend waiting until bosch thinks of something better than this

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rita5 I love my Tassimo T55
This coffee maker is simple to use, easy to clean and makes great lattes and cappuccinos. When I was shopping, I thought this was a splurge item but I use it every day. I am so happy that I made this purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by beckp Not as good as the T65
I had a T65 which died after 3 years. When I went to replace it, I saw it wasn't available anymore (or so I thought) and I bought the T55. I am very disappointed with it compared to the T65.
No LED lighting
The display is no longer a readable LCD, it's a multi function symbol display
The water tank is a joke, to remove, fill and replace
Seem cheaply made feel
I don't know why Tassimo moved their T65 model to it's "professional" series. My advise, buy the T65 (probably have to order somewhere) over the T55.
Lastly ... Tassimo, you sell several nice coffee mugs (the clear double walled glass and the white ceramic with rubber holder) BUT, they are too tall to fit with the cup stand in it's lowest position and too low (splatter mess) if you take it out like you were using a tall travel container.
My solution, epoxy 2 hockey pucks together and remove the holder and use the pucks .... perfect height.
My disappointment with the T55 is pushing me towards the Keurig Vue when the T55 dies.
