About the TASSIMO System

ENJOY GLOBAL VARIETY. The TASSIMO Home Brewing System by Bosch makes one perfect cup at a time with the ease of T DISC technology. T DISCs are filled with fresh coffee or espresso grounds, tea leaves or milk creamer (which the system froths for the perfect cappuccino or latte). Slip in your favorite T DISC and in just about a minute, your brewer makes coffee (iced or hot), tea, cappuccino, latte, crema, mocha, espresso or hot chocolate just to your liking.

compare to keurig >

ASK FOR THE BARCODE. Each T DISC uses a special barcode that tells your brewer exactly what to do: the size of the drink, the amount of water required, its optimal temperature, and how long to brew it. It's like the know-how of a seasoned barista right at home. All the brewing happens inside the T DISC, keeping the machine clean and ready to use. You can also manually control the strength of your drink with the press of a button.

Good coffee but not good creamers I love how easy this is to use and you can just press the button and walk away. It did take a couple tries to put the first Tpod in but I got the hang of it. I was so excited but I hate the way the lattes and cappuccinos taste. The milk creamer tastes so fake. The coffee also doesn't stay cold for very long. I have a 30 minute commute to work and the coffee is cold by the time I get there. Too bad I already threw away the boxes or I would return it. April 16, 2013
Very reliable and great coffee I have had this brewer for over two years and it has never let me down. The coffee is great - flavor is great. I thought I would miss Starbucks leaving this brand, but the King Joe Cappuccino is great and so is the black Gevalia KONA. April 9, 2013
Absolutely great! I have bought this brewer over one year ago and I am satisfied with it. A few months ago it was broken but I called to Tassimo and I got a new one with no problems. The coffee is really unique. I recommend it to everyone!!!! March 15, 2013
Great Coffee Maker!!! I have owned this product for 3 months and have enjoyed it very much! It's simple to use and the coffee is very good! It makes a true Euro coffee. I'am Happy! March 15, 2013

I have the old model Braun and now it's time for a new one. Debating between premium model and this one the only difference I see is the premium model says it is silent. I don't know how loud the Bosch models are but the Braun is pretty loud.

Answer:
I have never heard the non-premium model, but my premium one is far from silent. It does not make a great deal of noise, but it is much louder than a traditional drip coffee maker. If you want, I will sell you my premium brewer VERY cheap.

Answer:
While our Bosch Home Brewing Systems do have a characteristic noise, our Premium and Suprema models are designed with noise suppression so that you can have a peaceful brewing experience.

The Suprema Home Brewing System may initially make noise which will be reduced after subsequent usage.

My Bosch model is not "silent," but the noise, in my opinion, is minimal. The brewing time is quick, so what noise there is does not last long. I have not found the noise to be an irritant.

I had the Braun and replaced it with the Bosch, and the new machine is vastly superior. It is quieter and makes the coffee hotter and does not have the run off to deal with. A much better unit in my opinion.

Answer:
The Tassimo I have isn't completely silent, but it isn't too loud. The grinder on my regular coffee brewer is much louder than this. I have never woken the wife while brewing even when I leave at 5:30. I don't think the noise should really factor in to your decision on Tassimo, you won't notice it that much.

Not much more noise than a standard coffee maker. Unless the disc explodes, which apparently happens frequently enough that it is mentioned many times online. I would recommend the next higher up model - I have just orderd one and am taking this unit back to the store (for the 2nd time in a month).

Answer:
I've brewed espresso drinks and cocoa; they each finish with different temperatures. Cappuccino is the hottest so far; latte is hot (much hotter than my local coffee shop), and the cocoa is more warm than hot. I know that the coffee brews at a different temperature as well. Maybe you have a faulty unit?

The coffee is never really hot with any of the products. I believe the temperature is limited to protect Tassimo against liability issues if someone gets burned ala McDonalds a few years back.

Answer:
Actually, if you are wanting to fill a large commuter-style mug that's over 16 oz. (most of them are), consider using more than one brewing cycle. That is, use a second T-disc. You would have to use more coffee grounds with any brewing system to get a good bigger cup of coffee, after all. I can highly recommend the Gevalia Morning Roast, which gives you 16 oz of very good coffee per disc. Just remember, these systems are designed to deliver a cup on demand of fresh, hot coffee. The point is to keep you from needing a bigger cup sitting around, getting cold or stale. Enjoy!!

Answer:
When you say "large," how large are you talking about?

If you want a cup of coffee that will fill a 16 oz commuter cup, the Maxwell House coffees do it automatically... to the brim. However, if you are talking about a huge 24 oz or larger, press and hold the brew button when it lights up under the coffee + side. It does add more water, but remember that your T disc is still in the machine, so it isn't plain, clear water. You have to gauge when you are done... don't hold it too long, or you'll overflow your cup.

Hope that helps!

Product Use & Care

Everything you need to know to keep your system brewing better and longer.

GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR BREWER

  1. Keep it clean. Using a soft, damp cloth, wipe down the outside of your machine and clean the barcode scanner regularly, so your brewer can scan the bar codes on your T DISCs properly.
  2. Rinse the water tank and filter cartridge holder - by hand, with water only.
  3. Clean the brewing unit regularly. Run the cleaning process with the Service T DISC that comes with your machine. This is especially important if your brewer hasn't been used for a while. Never use scouring agents or steam cleaners.
  4. Here's what's dishwasher-safe: the T DISC holder, piercing unit, drink outlet, plus all parts of the cup stand can be removed and cleaned in the dishwasher. (When preparing a lot of drinks, one after the other, you can clean the piercing unit quickly and easily under running water.)
  5. Not dishwasher-safe: Wash the water tank and lid, the filter cartridge holder and Service T DISC by hand.

DESCALING

Your brewer comes with a convenient, automatic descaling program. If the Descale icon lights up while your machine is on, run the descaling program immediately - otherwise the brewer may not function properly. If your machine has a water filter, be sure to remove the filter holder with the filter cartridge before running the program.
