Safety Recall

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada, BSH Home Appliances Corporation and Kraft Foods announced on February 9, 2012 two voluntary recalls related to the Tassimo Home Brewing System.

We had received some consumer reports that the plastic disc, or T DISC, that holds the coffee or tea can burst and spray hot liquid and coffee grounds or tea leaves onto consumers using the brewer and onto bystanders, posing a potential burn hazard. Kraft and BSH identified the causes of this issue and, to help prevent it from happening in the future, announced voluntary recalls in February 2012 to (1) provide a free replacement T DISC holder that has been designed to help prevent the discharge of hot liquid, coffee grounds or tea leaves from brewers sold through February 2012, and (2) provide a refund for certain Espresso Drink T Discs sold from August 2011 through February 2012.

Please note that these recalls are limited to the United States and Canada only.

To register for either recall and for more information, please call 1-855-843-2487 8:00 am ET to 5:00 pm ET Monday through Friday.
