About the TASSIMO System

ENJOY GLOBAL VARIETY. The TASSIMO Home Brewing System by Bosch makes one perfect cup at a time with the ease of T DISC technology. T DISCs are filled with fresh coffee or espresso grounds, tea leaves or milk creamer (which the system froths for the perfect cappuccino or latte). Slip in your favorite T DISC and in just about a minute, your brewer makes coffee (iced or hot), tea, cappuccino, latte, crema, mocha, espresso or hot chocolate just to your liking.

compare to keurig >

ASK FOR THE BARCODE. Each T DISC uses a special barcode that tells your brewer exactly what to do: the size of the drink, the amount of water required, its optimal temperature, and how long to brew it. It's like the know-how of a seasoned barista right at home. All the brewing happens inside the T DISC, keeping the machine clean and ready to use. You can also manually control the strength of your drink with the press of a button.

Thank God! Tassimo shoots . . . Tassimo SCORES!!! I really wanted to stick with Tassimo, but was getting concerned as I was running dangerously low on my stash of the "other" extra bold flavors no longer carried. My wife just brought home a pack of Gevalia Dark Italian Roast today, and I dropped what I was doing, ripped into the package, and brewed my first cup. I was immediately rewarded with the pleasant, bold aroma and flavor I was hoping for. I can't wait to try the other extra bold flavors, but frankly, I would be totally, totally happy to drink this Dark Italian Roast every day! If it tells you anything about how good this coffee is, this is the first review I've ever written about anything! THANK YOU GEVALIA and Tassimo! Love the price, too! Bravissimo! November 11, 2011
Something much more that just hot water. Finally! I was making myself a depth-charge (coffee with a shot of espresso in it) until I discovered this cup of heaven. Very pleased with this product. May 30, 2013
A wonderfully strong cup of coffee! With fewer choices for Tassimo variety strong coffee, I was happy to see this choice. It is delicious! May 21, 2013
simply the best I love bold roast coffee. Hands down, this is the best tassimo has to offer. If you really want a kick, remove the cup before the last shot of water during brewing and it will be like a giant espresso! April 10, 2013

Based on my tastebuds, I would definitely say the Dark Italian Roast. It has great flavor to it that goes beyond all the others...without the burnt taste of Starbucks coffee ;).

Answer:
Kelly,
I really enjoy the Dark italian roast the best out of the two. It is comparable to the Verona Blend at Starbucks; spicy and sweet. The dark blend is good, but closer to the house or pike place brew. Hope this helps!

Answer:
I just tried the Dark Italian and did not enjoyed it much. Bad after taste, and nothing like the Verona they so tried for.

I enjoyed the dark breakfast blend much better even though is more like a medium roast.

The new Kenco Colombian is very tasty too.

I have tried all three BOLD blends and to be honest to me they all taste very similar once you have added cream and sugar. I think my favorite of the three is the Italian Roast. But if you blindfolded me I would probably have no idea. They are all really good.

Like you, I preferred the SBUX bold flavors. I think you will be pleased with the Dark Italian Roast. I certainly was! I haven't tried the dark blend yet, but I like the Dark Italian Roast as much or more than all the SBUX's flavors I ever had.

Answer:
The Dark Blend is somewhat stronger, but if you prefer strong, bold coffees, try the Carte Noire Voluptuose Corse - you'll love it (and it doesn't have the inherent Starbucks bitterness). For an even stronger bolder kick, also try the Carte Noire Expresso Ristretto...these two are my favorites, althogh the Mastro Lorenzo Espresso is also right up there.

Both the Dark Italian and the Dark House Blend are super.
You will love both. I prefer the Dark Italian because it tastes like Verona with that rich carmely taste. If you were a Verona drinker you will know what I mean.

Answer:
Unfortunately, Tassimo still has not created any dark roast/extra bold discs that come in the 16 ox/large cup size. There are only two light options, the Maxwell House Cafe Collection Morning Blend and the Gevalia Morning Roast. I hope they one day will increase the offerings of large cups, however, I believe that it is difficult since the pods are larger for the darker roasts and would have to be even larger, not allowing them to fit in the machine.

Answer:
You can get 16oz out of the Dark italian Roast, but it will be considerably light. A personal favorite of mine, is to brew 1 t disc of Dark Italian Roast, add additional water for 5 seconds, and then add an espresso t disc. Let me tell you...this has a great kick to it. This comes out to about 16oz...

Answer:
The boxes vary in the quantity of pods. Some of the dark roasts are thicker pods and then come with three boxes instead of two. When you look at the different types of coffee, you can find the number of pods/cups on the page in the details section. This Italian Dark Roast comes with 12 cups/pods.

Answer:
The number of T-Disc varies per package. This information can be found on the Tassimo website by selecting the product you are interested in and choosing the packaging. Once that is done, hoover the mouse over the packaging and that will magnify the area that shows the number of servings per package. Contacting Customer Service at 1-877-834-7271 is another option.

Answer:
I don't know the exact mg of caffeine but traditionally, contrary to common thought, darker brews tend to have less caffeine than mild ones, due to the roasting process. In other words, just because it tastes stronger, doesn't mean it has more caffeine. Hope this helps a little, and I'm sure someone will reveal the actual mg of caffeine.

This is by far the best 'pod-like' coffee machine to date. If I never have another K cup, I certainly will be just fine! That said, while your selections produce a better cup of coffee/espresso than the KCup, any chance getting PEETS to sign on or Intelligentsia (they are coffee purists, so goo luck). Peets would do very well with the TDiscs provided you all manage your supply lines better than you did with Starbucks. We need a lift to build our brand and to steel market share...C'Mon KRAFT, get a move on!

I don't think Intellegencia makes coffee in enough volume for even a limited Tassimo release. Plus, I don't think tassimo is a fit for their vision of a great coffee experience...some things just aren't made for each other.
