Answer: 
To remove the piercing unit from the drink outlet, it simply pops off. There are no threads or any retainers that should keep it in place. Sometimes soaking it in hot water can remove any residue that may be keeping it from separating.

The piercing units are interchangeable; however, it is recommended that you only use the correct piercing unit for your brewer model.

The piercing units should be replaced when they become dull and there is difficulty in puncturing the T-Disc.
